“A new defense package, which is very much needed right now by our soldiers, has been agreed upon, which protects the freedom and independence of not only Ukraine, Poland, Europe, but the whole world,” Zelensky said.

Polish President Andrzej Duda said that in total Poland will send 14 MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine.

“The four MiG-29s that we have left in storage have already been transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Now four MiGs are being transferred, eight in total ,” Duda said at a press conference. “ We are ready … to give six more. They can be transferred in the near future time” .

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Warsaw has played a leading role in persuading the allies to provide Kyiv with heavy weapons.

Moscow: presentation of credentials and meeting of the Security Council of the Russian Federation

Russian President Vladimir Putin received credentials in Moscow from 17 new ambassadors to Russia, including US and EU ambassadors Lynn Tracy and Roland Galaraga.

During the ceremony, Putin noted that Russian-American relations are “in a deep crisis.”

“The use by the United States in its foreign policy of such tools as support for the so-called color revolutions, support in this regard for the coup d’état in Kiev in 2014, ultimately led to today’s Ukrainian crisis and additionally made a negative contribution to the degradation of Russian-American relations” , – Putin said, accusing the European Union of initiating a geopolitical confrontation with Russia.

Later, the Russian president held a meeting of the Russian Security Council, at which he stated that it was necessary “to do everything to integrate the historically Russian lands of Donbass, Novorossiya as soon as possible into the economic, legal, educational space” of the Russian Federation, laying responsibility for preparing “sabotage and terrorist attacks” in regions occupied by Moscow to Western intelligence agencies.
